15th Leger - Completed unit

The command stand is often the one you look at the most and it is around it that all actions will take place during a game. I wanted something special. After few researches, I found a drawing of the voltigeurs horn of the 15th Léger by A. Joineau. Colors are different from the rest of the unit and work out well on the figure. So yes, it is a horn of light infantry that has nothing to do with the command stand but I thought it was so eye-candy ... And I even put the standard bearer in the back (that, I won't do it again). By adding a piper behind the officer, it gives a very musical command stand especially if the drummer gets involved! Maybe all this is not very historic but so great to watch, at least from my point of view!

And here are a few pictures of the completed unit in various formations. To follow is the first battalion of the 46th of line infantry.

      Merci Phil.

    1. Thanks Ben. I've decided to spent my painting time on the Napoelonic era only. Well, at least for the next few months. One of the best period for colorful uniformes in my opinion.
So I think I'll manage to paint some other units to get a complete brigade soon. To follow 2 line infantry regiment, 1 artillery battery and 1 chasseurs à cheval regiment but don't tell anybody. If it goes out from this message I'll know it'll be you !! ;=D

  3. Very nice, what makes you dislike having the flag bearer in the second rank?

    1. Thanks John. The flag bearer on the second rank is ok when you look at the command stand only. But with the complete unit, it seems that the flag is always shift on one side or the other and is never in the middle of the unit.
Another point is that I'm trying to build a very dynamic battalion by adding on the front rank figures advancing, loading their musket, firing, etc. I prefer to have the standard bearer leading the whole advance of the battalion and therefore be on the first rank. I'll try that position on my next unit.

  4. Superbe Pat!
